Kristy Emery is the founder and Principal Consultant with Catana Consulting and works with clients on developing and implementing strategic community engagement activities. Kristy also works with clients on navigating various regulatory frameworks, ensuring timely permitting for work program deployment.

Kristy strives to build collaborative working relationships within the communities she works, and believes early and on-going dialogue in a mutually respectful manner is key to long-term project success. Kristy has a successful track record of positive First Nation and community relations and is skilled at helping community members better understand technically complex matters, enabling issues of concerns to be better understood and addressed early in project planning and implementation.

Involved in the mineral exploration and mining sector since 1994, Kristy has an accomplished background in regulatory affairs, community engagement and First Nations consultation. In previous positions with the BC Government and Association for Mineral Exploration BC (AME BC), Kristy worked in areas of strategic planning, policy development, negotiations, and government relations.

Kristy earned her commerce degree, specializing in entrepreneurial management, from Royal Roads University, and is a Director with the Yukon Chamber of Mines and Britannia Beach Historical Society. Kristy is co-author of AME BC’s Aboriginal Engagement Toolkit, designed to provide guidance and encouragement to the mineral exploration industry on early engagement activities.
