John is a Geological Consultant based in Nelson. A graduate of Haileybury School of Mines, and of University of Manitoba, he worked for Inco, Willroy Mines, and Goldbelt Mines before branching off into consulting. He is a member of CIM, and has taken an active role in industry organizations and community life having served as a Director and member of the Executive of AMEBC. He is a member and Past President of both Chamber of Mines of Eastern BC, and of Nelson & District Chamber of Commerce. He has served as President of the Kirkland Lake CIM branch,  is a former City of Nelson Councilor, served 7 years as a Director of BC Chamber of Commerce, (was made a Fellow of BCCC in 2006 – a rare honour), and continues as a GOVERNOR OF BCCC, AND AS A member of THEIR Policy Committee . He is also recipient of APEGBC’s CJ Westerman  Award (2007) and an  AMEBC Frank Woodside Distinguished Service Award for 2007, AS WELL AS 2011'S GOLD PAN AWARD."continues as a member of BCCC’s Policy Committee.
