Canadian Mineral Exploration Health & Safety Awards

The Canadian Mineral Exploration Health & Safety Awards trace their roots to 1983 when AME BC first recognized companies who had worked throughout the year 1982 without a lost workday incident. The awards program was expanded nationwide for the year 2005 in cooperation with PDAC.

AME BC presents the David Barr Award and partners with PDAC on the Safe Day Everyday Gold Award and the Safe Day Everyday Award.


David Barr Award

In 2005, the AME BC Health & Safety Committee established the David Barr Award in recognition of Excellence in Leadership and Innovation in Health & Safety.

Safe Day Everyday Gold Award

The Safe Day Everyday Gold Award was inaugurated in 1982 as the Annual Safety Award. The award recognizes the company with the highest number of person hours worked without a lost workday incident. In 2005, the award was implemented nationwide.

Safe Day Everyday Award

The Safe Day Everyday Award, formerly the Exploration Safety Award, was first presented to all companies who operate for one year without a lost workday incident. 71 companies received the award in 2005, 61 in 2006, 65 in 2007, and 73 in 2008.
