This two-day course will provide participants with an overview of both fundamental and new concepts in gold deposit geology and models, as well as highlighting key features that are critical in exploration targeting and discovery. Participants will be exposed to new and critical criteria in model definition. Targeting criteria and techniques will range across scales from crustal to prospect scale utilizing a range of innovative and “tried and true” techniques. Several practical exercises will emphasize practical hands-on map-based applications. This course is aimed at mineral exploration geologists, as well as government, academic, and student geologists. Additionally, this course provides an opportunity to meet and exchange data and views with leading researches in the field.
