Keynote Speaker: Robin Sheremeta, Vice President, Heath and Safety Leadership, Teck Resources Limited

Each year the AME BC Health and Safety Awards Breakfast honours the recipients of the Safe Day Everyday Gold Award and the David Barr Award. This event will take place on Wednesday, January 25, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in the Marine Room at the Westin Bayshore. Please note a ticket is required for this event.

Robin B. Sheremeta

Vice President, Health and Safety Leadership

Robin Sheremeta was appointed Vice President, Health & Safety Leadership of Teck Resources Limited in January 2010 after leading Teck's Courageous Safety Leadership initiative in 2009.  Prior to his current role, Mr. Sheremeta was General Manager, Elkview Operations from 2006 to 2010.  Other positions held include General Manager at Greenhills Operations from 2004 to 2005 and Operations Manager from 2002 to 2004.  Mr. Sheremeta held various positions in Engineering and Operations from 1988 to 2002 at the Greenhills and Fording River mines, including Superintendent, Engineering at Greenhills in 1996.

Mr. Sheremeta holds a Bachelor of Science in Mining and Mineral Process Engineering from the University of British Columbia.  

He is currently a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of BC and the Canadian Institute of Mining.
